Now you could try the other manoeurves as well, but the only other maneouvre you'd have a chance of pulling off at 1st level is Counter Punch (DC 25), and that's only if your Strength is at least 12 (+1 modifier), because it's mathematically impossible to get to 25 otherwise with your maximum of 4 ...

Etherscope Creators need a bed (or floor) for Gencon

Hi folks, Nigel and I are really trying to get over to Gencon this year, but are being hindered by the crippling airfares to get across the pond in the high season of mid august. Is there anyone out there goping to Gencon who would be willing to let two 30-somethings kip in their rooms for as small ...

Whether to include a "space" element to the game was something we toyed arouind with for a while when creating Etherscope. In the end we decided againt it because we didn't want to be just a Space 1889 clone. Therefore it's not a direction we'll be looking to take Etherscope in, it's certa...

Now that sounds really warped...... WHEN DO WE GET IT....WHEN. Jamat Well, the release schedule says september. Generally publishers try to get as much as possible ready for GenCon (mid August), but I don't know whether MotO will manage this deadline or not. If they do I'd guess that you'd be looki...

I don't think I can say yet, but "warped" is a good way of thinking about it :).
So I guess I can talk about it now...

You have to remember that the soviet union is actually quite a nice place - generally fairly affluent if not politically powerful. It's based on a the idea that communism didn't work in our history due to the agricultural economy which makes the typical worker a farm labourer, but in the etherscope ...

Savant sounds good, or broker if you want to emphasise the community relations side of the job.

I'd also make them a Tradesman social template - essentially an undertakers is a shop, just not selling vegetables or hardware supplies.

Cheerio,

Favourite characters in TGM?

I've just received my authors' copies of TGM and have been paging through it again - it's great to see it in print. I've been able to read through much of the stuff not written by me in a different light - without the pressure of editorial duties and deadlines, etc. Anyway I was really struck by Pal...

One thing about the Ether, you could "be" in a zombie movie or Indiana Jones...it's an infinite holodeck. One inspiration for Etherscope is Jeff Noon's novel, Vurt. Vurt is a drug which allows those who take it to enter a shared dream. One Vurt feather (as they are called) I particularly ...

While a tv series may be waiting in the wings, a comic would be possible now. You have plenty of backstory and access to writing/artistic talent. How can a group be seen as humanitarian, if they're creating disposable people? If I create a race or a species which can think or feel but I see them as labor saving devices...how is that humanitarian? Their goal is to raise humanity above manual labour. They simply don't class transgenics as huma...
