Re: My First Time!

I will definitely report. I actually have a pretty aweosome setup for my chart reference. I have one of these: http://www.tarifold-organizers.com/tarifold-D291-desktop-organizer.jpg One thing, I'm running Sailors on the Starless Sea for six people. Is 3 PCs per player good? Or should they run four?

Re: My First Time!

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I'm ready to get this game started!

One thing I just read, looking through People of the Pit. The suggested number of player characters was 8-10. Is that normal? I understand the number of PCs for the funnel, but man, that's a lot of PCs.

My First Time!

I've owned the DCCRPG system since it was released. I bought the collector's edition and one regular book, and all the modules but up until now I haven't been able to pull together a group. That recently changed and this weekend, I've got six players ready to jump in and play. The group won't stay t...

DCC RPG Undead Monsters

So, I was looking through DCC RPG and I was wondering, what is the game's take on level drain? I notice that the Shadow drains strength like it always has. I do not, however, see any examples of spectres, wraiths or vampires. How are you going to handle this in your game? I've never liked level drai...

Re: Character Sheet Request

I completely agree, a lot of work went into creating a great thematic style for the book and the dungeon maps. I don't see why we need bland looking sheets, even though they are nostalgic.

I wish I could say there was. This group kind of fell apart due to scheduling problems. Oh well, maybe next time.

Re: Shadowhold v. Shadowfell

I'm not sure what the official answer is, but in my campaign I used the Shadowhold as a location somewhere within Shadowfell. It's mirrored location is somewhere in Punjar, I'm not sure where but that will be for a later date ;)

Re: Sellsword's Map

This is one Skill Challenge I used in Sellswords: Maneuvering Through Smoke Level 1 Skill Challenge Complexity : 2 (6 Successes Before 3 Failures) XP Reward : 200 From the time that the PCs enter Smoke they are being watched by the Dog Brotherhood, who is on high alert since the Umbral Fog descended...

Re: Sellswords of Punjar xp?

The table is setup and ready to go. Just waiting for the players to arrive. http://www.rpgforums.org/punjar_1/readytogo.JPG The party fails a skill challenge and runs directly into a Dog Brotherhood ambush, whom they promptly trounced. http://www.rpgforums.org/punjar_1/dogbrothersambush.JPG The part...

Re: Sellswords of Punjar xp?

I've also decided to expand greatly on the Cabal of Cen, as I used that as an adventure hook for the party's warlock. After Thrones of Punjar, I'm going to have him discover the location of another gate/seal similar to the one on level 2 in Sellswords of Punjar. There are a lot of little gems in the...

Re: Sellswords of Punjar xp?

Thanks Harley. We played the game last night and all I can say is... wow. A great time was had by all. For most of the group it was their first real taste of 4E and for all of them it was their first Dungeon Crawl Classic. I'm here to tell you, they'll be talking about their initial foray into Smoke...

Re: Sellswords of Punjar xp?

I added this Skill Challenge to the beginning of the adventure. There is a lot of room for expanding this, especially using Mike Mearls latest article on Skill Challenges. Maneuvering Through Smoke Level 1 Skill Challenge Complexity : 2 (6 Successes Before 3 Failures) XP Reward : 200 From the time t...

Sellswords of Punjar: Skill DCs

I was wondering if anyone could tell me whether they adjusted any of the Skill DCs in Sellswords of Punjar? Some of them seem really high for 1st level characters. I saw it mentioned somewhere that the DCs were changed, but a search didn't turn up anything.

Thanks,
Ren

Re: Sellswords of Punjar xp?

The experience point total "almost" adds up what you need to make 2nd level. The total of all XP for the first part is 4,925 , which is 985 experience points for each player character in a party of five. A simple bonus award will do it. I am planning to create a skill challenge or two for ...

Re: 4E Aereth and Punjar

Tieflings will definitely be easy to work in, and placing Dragonborn as local to Punjar probably wouldn't be hard. I'd picture their race coming from around the Achsfel Wastes. Perhaps their once great kingdom was found there.

Re: Sellswords of Punjar xp?

Harley, Did you ever get to go through and check those experience point totals? I'm back from a long hiatus and starting my 4E campaign in Punjar, using Sellswords. I've read through all the threads that I can find on Punjar but the information that I'm finding seems to be incomplete at best. So the...

I would venture to say that the smaller hamlets and villages that get mentioned are mentioned because they themselves are referenced in the Dungeon Crawl Classic line. There are most likely tons of villages and small hamlets in the more civilized areas, but Goodman, thankfully, left that up to the D...
