Re: Limited edition/availabilty
I disagree. First off, the person getting the rare item is already playing the game. Second, if DCC RPG is such an awesome fun game, you don't need to "encourage" people to play. The new players aren't joining so that the GM gets a rare adventure. They are playing for fun & cuz the ga...

Re: Limited edition/availabilty
I think that the special promotions Goodman Games supports to encourage actual game store activities are valuable tools. There really aren't that many ways available to get folks out the door, and hard to obtain physical items are a great way to encourage just that. I agree that making PDF versions ...

Re: Chapter 13 Press Tales from the Fallen Empire...?
Per a Kickstarter backer message from James about a week back, they are getting close. (Over 300 pages of fun (!) pre-final editing.)
Looking forward to it.

Re: Gamesfair '86 (Reading UK)
And I remember thinking at the time it was way too 'charty', which must be considered in the light that I was an avid Rolemaster player at the time, so that's saying something!

Re: Gamesfair '86 (Reading UK)
Sadly, I never actually played the system. A friend gave me the book because he though it was dismal and couldn't make heads or tails of it. I'm not sure how he even got the copy, since it seems to have primarily been a U.K. thing. :) And it goes to show you, you can have fun playing a game with a m...

Re: Gamesfair '86 (Reading UK)
That is so freaking bizarre you mentioned the Mega RPG, as I was just about to post something about it elsewhere. Over the past months, as I've gradually unboxed all my game stuff after our move, I take pics of interesting things to share with my gaming buds on g+... The thrust of the post was origi...

Re: Tales from the Road: My Road Crew experience thus far
Will the Sunken City Omnibus contain new material, such as write-ups for the various named patrons, a possum-man class, and some additional adventure material? I don't want to hijack Rick's thread, but I'm still working out the precise page count and what might be included beyond the four adventure...

Re: Tales from the Road: My Road Crew experience thus far
We'd definitely like to follow up on it; when will the "M" series be available? Thanks Rick, I'm glad your players enjoyed it and want to follow up. I wish the first M series adventure Against the Vortex Temple was ready yesterday, so that those who got right into Lair of the Mist Men cou...

Thanks for adding 'Lair of the Mist Men' to the mix Rick! Did it work well for you in 'stand alone' mode?

Re: Do we really need clerics and magic healing?
I think one of the advantages of fantasy is that it covers a pretty broad range of personalities. Certainly there are styles where clerics don't fit, and if you want your campaign to have such a feel, by all means implement some interesting way to handle healing that doesn't involve the gods or a sp...

Re: Do we really need clerics and magic healing?
Magical healing makes it possible to have extended adventures. My experience with systems that take a more natural approach is that it's gritty fun for the first couple sessions, but it quickly gets aggravating as you constantly need to interrupt the flow of the adventure with extended rests, etc. G...

Re: Purple Sorcerer Games: Lair of the Mist Men
No Ogrepup, the entire adventure is new. I've just included the introductory encounter with the Mist Men found in The Ooze Pits of Jonas Gralk as an appendix so you don't need Ooze Pits to enjoy Lair of the Mist Men.

Re: Which campaign setting would be best for DCC?
As much as I'm a a 'big map' fan, I think DCC is particularly suited for the concept of starting very local with only white space and legend in every direction. Then you can steal like crazy from every resource imaginable as the map gets filled in as the campaign develops.

Re: Purple Sorcerer Games
Thanks for the heads up Colin.
Doing OK guys. I've just been dealing with some sort-of serious health issues since early Fall. As I'm recovering I'm getting excited about moving forward on all the fun projects.
I'll try to be better about letting everyone know what's up.
