So after a few sessions of running MCC my biggest complaint is TL. I understand that figuring out tech from the Ancient Ones should be very difficult. So in that adventure the the Com badges are like tech level 3 but everyone is a level zero character so can they even use those com badges? Maybe I have the artifact check rules wrong? I thought the tech level was the maximum that a character could use that tech? Also, the com badges are Tech level...

I house-ruled Pure-strained Humans to have +1 at level 0, and plantients −1. It felt weird to me having a character getting worse. I have been kicking around the idea that if your luck score changes Permanently, not by burning luck/regaining luck, then the birth augur can be gained or lost. There where always ways for ability scores to change during the adventurers career.
