Re: Question about "Withdrawl," page 95

Keep in mind that the use of a "withdrawal free whack" rule is what effectively kills any chase scene from occurring. The PCs don't run when they should for fear of an ignoble death and the bad guys never manage to escape to plunge down some alleyway with the heroes in hot pursuit. That's been my ex...

Doom of the Savage Kings Minor Troubleshoot Needed

Trying to avoid spoilers here . . . my minor problems regard the lottery and how it's conducted. Names are written on vellum and then drawn randomly. No one could opt out really as no one leaves and everyone knows everyone. Problem #1: The people are illiterate, so they are trusting the reader with ...

Well, we played it. We had 4 survivors out of 16.

And that was with them skipping some encounters

Re: So GG is not putting out more DCC rulebooks?

The core book is 469 pages, how many more pages of rules do you need? I say leave the rest to the 3PP, stick with what matters: great adventure modules.

Has anyone made GM screen inserts for DCC?

Specifically a landscape orientation for something like this.

I have no problem with TPKs so tomorrow night should be a blast. I'm going to run it as is with 3 players running 5 funnel fodders each.

Sailors of the Starless TPK...

I'm hoping to run my group through this one next Thur, but when I read through it - wow. Has any 0-level made their way from begining to end? This one has TPK written all over it. I think that's a standard for the zero level adventures when they make 'em: "On read thru, is there at least one moment ...

I am curious when a module says something lthat the players find is say a +1 mace or sword how do others handle this do you make a roll to see if it has the potential to be constructed of mythril? I haven't run across this because no one has rolled up an elf yet, but what if the chance of a weapon ...

0-level Healing?

When running The Portal Under the Stars this question became a matter of life or death:

When 0-level PCs start dropping like flies, someone with an Occupation of Healer, Herbalist, etc is going to ask: "What do I need to roll to heal some hit points on my fellow 0-levels?"

Thoughts?

Where are my beloved handouts?

Back when DCC stood for top notch old school D&D modules, my favorite bits were the player handouts. They simply ROCKED with their impact at the gaming table.

Are we ever going to see such things for the post DCC#66.5 era of adventures?

I don't know if this has been mentioned:
Table 3-3, p72, the fumble die for the shield should be d8 (see p79, Fumbles).

Re: "The known World" p314: "Make your world mysterious by making it small - very small" This was a moment of gaming satori for me. I don't need a gaming world, I need a portion of that world, maybe 100 miles on a side. Preferably one with a lot of the major geographical features to place a wide var...

How do you say Hirot?

I simply can't imagine mentioning this village from Doom of the Savage Kings without my players cracking jokes for the next 10 minutes.

Maybe I just have immature players.

Re: Classic Modules

The folks worried about wizard corruption at high levels may be pleasantly surprised when they play the final rules. Honestly, what corruption? The possibility is rare and avoided by burning Luck. Luck can be regained, albeit with effort. Like Siphoning in Hellfrost, Corruption is scary, but I thin...

All my funnel characters are dead, now what?

Has anyone finished that first zero level adventure and had one player with no characters left?

Do you just give him 4 more level zeroes and hope they survive the upcoming first level adventure?
